This month, the spotlight is on one of my favorite clients, the Hunter family from Fredericksburg, Virginia! It has been roughly six years since we first met, and I got to photograph three generations of their family. I was delighted when they booked another family session with me this year and found myself looking through portraits from our previous shoots. Here is a look back at some of my favorite shots from our first session in August 2015.
It's exciting to photograph new people, but it's always heartwarming when repeat clients get in touch with me. The Hunter family called on my services again in July 2018. I was happy to see all three generations of their family present for our 2nd shoot and amazed at how much their children grew since I saw them last.
Our 2021 session took place on June 10th. After what seemed like a long winter and the COVID quarantine of 2020, it was great to see their familiar, smiling faces on that warm summer morning. As always, they opted to meet me for a sunrise session on the beach. It's such a pleasure to photograph this beautiful family.
Having photographed the Hunter family periodically throughout the years, I sense this family has a strong bond and a genuine appreciation for each other. It's wonderful to see three generations of family vacationing together and having a good time. The enthusiasm and joy I've witnessed during their family sessions is truly uplifting.
If you could use some quality family time and your family photo albums need an update, consider booking a family session with me! It's a fun excuse to get the whole family together for some good old-fashioned family bonding, and you'll have professionally shot family portraits to share with future generations.
Reasons to Book a Professional Family Photoshoot
- Though you may have multiple photos of your children or spouse, your photo collection lacks pictures of the entire family. That's probably because one of you must be the photographer. Booking a professional family session means everyone gets photographed together.
- A professional photographer has high-quality photography equipment (which results in high-quality portraits,) editing skills, and the knowledge to direct a photoshoot.
- Decorate the walls of your home or office with family portraits. I offer matting and frames in addition to specialty gift items such as photo books, cards, calendars, and more.
- Family portraits are part of our legacy and a fun way to reminisce with loved ones.
- Life is unpredictable, and families can change without notice. Preserve your family as it is now with professional portraits.
Interested, but not sure which location to choose for your family session? I have a list of suggestions to help you decide. A tried-and-true favorite among many of my clients is Myrtle Beach State Park, depicted in the Hunter family portraits shown above. This 312-acre park boasts a fishing pier, a mile-long stretch of beachfront with lots of room to spread out and no hotels, hiking trails, natural habitat, boardwalks, picnic facilities, and playgrounds which are all attractive backdrops for family portraits. The park also offers public restrooms.
My family sessions come in a variety of prices to fit every budget. Talk to your family members and select a date that will work for everyone. There's still time to book a summer session, but Autumn is a beautiful time for sunset shots. Determine the date and price that's right for your family and contact me to get on the books. After that, get prepared and excited for your portrait session!
In closing, I want to thank the Hunter family for allowing me to share their family portraits. They remind me to make more time for my family despite my busy schedule and I hope they have inspired you to do the same.
